Richard James "RJ" Sterling, 77, died peacefully while napping on May 20, 2020 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Visitation will be held May 30, 2020 9:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. at Combre Funeral Home.*

A PRIVATE service* for family and special friends will follow from 11:00 a.m. to noon.

His is survived by his wife, Charlet Sterling, his mother, Mabel Garland Stringfellow, his uncle, John Darrell Campbell, Jr., his brothers Larry (Rita) Sterling, Arthur (Alosia) Sterling III, and Andrew Hopkins Jr.  His children- Dawn Sterling of Lake Charles, LA, Shannon LeDay of Phoenix, AZ, Dominique McCain of Dallas, TX, and Candace (Karlos) Kisack of Houston, TX; grandchildren- Ryann Stering of New Orleans, LA, LeDeja LeDay of Dallas,TX,  Randi Jae Micah McBride of Houston, TX, and his great grandchildren- Londynn, Lailani, Layla, and Lovey as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
