Robert Jean was born to the union of Roosevelt and Mary Earlene Jean on June 23, 1943. He went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 1, 2014. Robert was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. He accepted the Lord at an early age and remained a faithful believer in God.
Robert retired from PPG Chemical Plant, Lake Charles, La. Those who knew and loved Robert knew he had a love for his racehorses and his field trial beagle hounds.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Rena Barlow Jean of Lake Charles, La.; son, Jerome Jean (Andrea) of Lake Charles, La.; one daughter, Yolanda J. Skipper (Arnold) of League City, Texas; three sisters, Loretta Landry (Lionel), Merlene Hughes and Sharon Jean, all of Lake Charles, La.; three brothers, Gerald Jean (Beverly) and Merlin Jean (Bernice), both of Houston, Texas, and Tyrone Jean of Lake Charles, La. He had four granddaughters and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt and Mary Earlene Jean.
His funeral will be at noon Saturday, June 7, 2014, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Clyde Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum, under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is from 8 a.m. Saturday, June 7, in Combre Funeral Home.
