On Thursday, July 2026, Robert Billings Pouchie Sr., affectionately known as "Uncle Robert," peacefully entered Eternal rest surrounded by the love of his family. After a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, God in His Infinite wisdom, called His faithful servant home to receive his heavenly reward.
Robert was born on February 2, 1946, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to the late Alnetter Andrews Pouchie and Alvin Willie Pouchie Sr. He was raised with strong values of faith, hard work, and family, principles that guided him throughout his life.
Robert attended Washington High School, where he met the love of his life Nancy Guidry. Their loved blossomed into marriage, and together they built a beautiful life raising four children and created a home filled with love, laughter and lasting memories.
A dedicated and dependable provider, Robert began his career with PPG Industries, where he faithfully worked for 30 years before retiring. He was admired for his strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to excellence.
Robert leaves to cherish his precious memories of life with his beloved former wife, Nancy Guidry Pouchie; his children Yosha Fontenot, Robert (Tonia) Pouchie, Stacey Dominique, and Agnes Pouchie.
Grandchildren: Chelsea Pouchie, Robin (Robert) Harrington, Aaron Dominique, Aariele Dominique, Diamond Fontenot, Destiney (Marquise) Marks, Devin Fontenot, Jaiden Mulkey, Tony Kershaw.
Great grandchildren: Neveah Butler, Jessie Mitchell Jr., Jaxxon Mitchell, Roselynn Marks, Ryleigh Marks, Laden Celestine, Jersi Pouchie, Violet Harrington.
He was preceded in death by his, Mother, Alnetter Pouchie, Father Alvin Pouchie, Sisters; Alnetter Jones, Gertrude Francis, Betty Bennett, Alvina Pouchie, Brother Alvin (Bubba) Pouchie and granddaughter Ashley Pouchie.
The visitation will be at 1:00 P.M. in Greater St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church with funeral to follow at 3:00 P.M. Interment will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
