IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rodney
Duhon
November 11, 1929 – November 9, 2020
Rodney Duhon was born on November 11, 1929, in Jennings, LA and was a lifelong resident of Southwestern Louisiana. Rodney graduated from Jennings High School and later enlisted in the U.S. Army. Actually born on Veterans Day, he was a proud veteran and honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict. Rodney was a long-standing member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Lake Charles and was the respected eldest member of the congregation.
After his time in the service, Rodney worked as a Plant Supervisor in the Petro-Chemical industry until his retirement. An avid outdoorsman, he truly enjoyed fishing and hunting and liked to hunt small game, especially squirrel and rabbit. Outgoing by nature, Rodney loved to entertain and was always thinking of others before himself – especially when it came to feeding them! He liked to visit with friends and loved to go out and about in his truck, one of his pride and joys.
Most of all, Rodney was the dedicated, proud father of nine. He loved to spend time with his family and often traveled across the United States with them for family reunions and many fun vacations. Family meant everything to Rodney. Truly blessed, he leaves a legacy of love, honor and respect for those left to cherish his memory.
Rodney is survived by eight children, daughters Kathleen Mosely and her husband Clarence "Chop" and Veronica Walker and her husband Morris, all of Lake Charles, Jennifer "Elaine" Parker and her husband Glenn, of Houston, TX, Terrie Lute and her husband David, of Erath, LA and Deidre Buchanan and her husband Marcus, also of Houston and sons Kirt P.
