On Sunday April 26, 2026 at 8:23 A.M. surrounded by his loving family, Ronald Anthony Honore was called home.
Ronald was born on June 24th, 1943 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to August Ernest and Rose Bryant Honore. He was raised by his godparents Harry and Lucille Honore-Olivier. Ronald was blessed with eight siblings, Larry, Palmer, Charles, Lamar, Michael, Barbara, Wanda, and Wynetta.
He was a long time native of Lake Charles who attended Sacred Heart Elementary and a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. After graduation he entered the United States Air Force where he became a Morse Intercept Operator Specialist. He received an honorable discharge from the Air Force and returned home to Lake Charles and worked as an Operator at Firestone Petrochemical for a number of years before accepting employment at Occidental Petroleum from where he retired.
In 1968 he fell in love and married the love of his life Jennie Ann Fontenette of St. Martinsville, Louisiana. To this union two children were born, Ronald A. Honore II and Stephanie Honore and their life long partnership of love and faith lasted for the next 57 years.
Ronald is best remembered as a loving and devoted husband a true friend too many. An extremely well read individual with an encyclopedic knowledge of jazz and many other genres of music. Ronald’s appetite for learning new things was rivaled only by his appetite for gourmet cuisine.
He was a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan and never missed watching a game. He loved his Westerns and listening to his extensive record collection. Ronald’s greatest joy in life was being with his family and friends.
Those Left to share in his memories are his wife of 57 years, Jennie F. Honore, son Ronald A. Honore II, daughter, Stephanie Honore (Danny) Hull, five grandchildren, Brandon Honore, Kyle Carter and Nadia Kristina Carter of Lake Charles, Treylan Touchet of Jennings, Louisiana and Caleb A. Honore of Peachtree Corners, Georgia. His three brothers, Charles Honore, Lamar Honore and Michael (Tina) Honore of Lake Charles; two sisters, Barbara Rocker of Lynn, Massachusetts and Wynetta Smith of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Along with a host of nieces and nephews. Ronald also has one God Daughter, Danielle Taylor of Conroe, Texas.
Preceding Ronald in death were his daughter, Mary Nichole, his parents and god parents, sister, Wanda Ardoin and brothers Palmer Honore and Larry Honore.
The family will greet family and friends beginning at 9:00 A.M. in the chapel of Combre Funeral Home followed by his funeral service at 12:00 P.M. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum with Military Honors under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
