LAKE CHARLES Rosa Duhon Paris, 94, was called home to her Heavenly Father at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016, in a local nursing home.

She was born to the late John Duhon and Mary Henry Duhon in Elton, La., moving to Lake Charles, La., at a young age. At age 25 she moved to Port Arthur, Texas, where she resided until she returned to Lake Charles, La., June of 2014. She worked for Dr. Ben (Ginger) Colletti for over 50 years, where she and Ms. Colletti were devoted friends for many years.

Rosa loved her family, especially her godchildren, nieces and nephews, whom she showers with gifts and love. She enjoyed cooking and celebrating holidays with family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one adopted daughter, Judy Faye Coney of Beaumont, Texas; three grandsons, Ervine and Jerald Wayne Armstong of Beaumont, Texas; a devoted grandson, Sam Collins of Hitchcock, Texas; devoted goddaughter, Greta Ardoin of Lake Charles, La.; other nieces who was instrumental in her care, Demetre Mathew, Aletha Guillory, Tiffony Johnson, Tanesia Leday, Destinee Delahoussaye, all of Lake Charles, La., Lillie Saddle of Peoria, Ariz.; devoted sister-in-law, Mary Duhon; devoted nieces, Azarie Dupree of Port Arthur, and Elizabeth Fuller of Lake Charles, La.; goddaughter, Rose Riggs of Houston, Texas; many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Paris; three brothers, Charlie, Lenton and Roosevelt Duhon; sister, Anna Mae Lartigue; goddaughter, Sadie Nickleberry.

Service date: June 2, 2016

Her funeral service will be Thursday, June 2, at 1 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. Joby Mathew officiating. View from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Combre Funeral Home.
