Rosa was born on October 22, 1948 to Heart and Alzena Simon. She wascalled home on December 3, 2014.
At an early age, she joined Zion Traveler''s Baptist Church in Iowa,Louisiana. She later became a member of Christian Baptist Church underthe leadership of Pastor Edward Alexander, Jr. She remained a faithfulmember of Christian Baptist Church until she was transitioned home tobe with the Lord.
Rosa graduated from Bethune High School in Welsh, LA in 1967. She wasa beloved school bus driver who took pride in serving the communityand working with kids. She retired from the Calcasieu Parish SchoolBoard in 2006, with 25 years of service.
Rosa was preceded in death by her parents: Heart and Alzena Simon; onebrother: Roosevelt Simon; three sisters: Elretha Simon Noel, DorethaSimon Pete, and Ellen Simon Landry.
She leaves to cherish her sweet memories, one daughter: LeslieWoolridge Pelican, of Dallas, Texas; two sons: John Vincent Marshall,Jr. (Tabitha), of Moss Bluff, Louisiana and Arthur Lee Woolridge, Jr.(LaTroya) of Spring, Texas; five sisters: Secmonuer Alexander and RoseSimon, both of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Edmonia Schxexnayder, AlineMoore, and Willie Mae Rachelle, all of Houston, Texas; two brothers:Murphy Simon and Mose Simon (Dorcenia), of Port Arthur, Texas; eightgrandchildren: Ya''Minha, John J., Marquea, Johne'', Bianca, JohnIII, Kailah, and Jalayah''; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,and friends.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Service date: December 12, 2014
Her funeral will be at 11am Friday, December 12, in Christian Baptist Church (North Location) The Rev. Edward Alexander Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is from 9am to 11am Friday in the church.
