Rosalie Carriere James, 86, died at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at home.

She was a native of Lawtell, La., and moved to Lake Charles, in 1949. She was employed by Gulf State Utilities/Entergy for 30 plus years.

Survivors include her sons, Alvin Ray James of Lake Charles, La., and Raypheal James of Houston, Texas; grandsons, Elliot James of Houston, Texas, Desmond and Matthew James of Iowa, La.; daughter-in-laws, Cheryl James of Iowa, La.; and Helena James of Houston, Texas; one brother, Willie Carriere Jr. of Houston, Texas; sisters, Audrey L. Riggs of Lake Charles, La., Anna L. Fisher of Opelousas, La., and Ruby Fields of Houston, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Rene James.
