Rose Lee Arvie, 73, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016, surrounded by her husband, family and friends.
Rose Lee Arvie was born June 27, 1942, in Natchitoches, La., to the late Levi and Augusta Holmes Phillips. She married Clarence Arvie Sr. and moved to Lake Charles, La., in 1963. Rose and Clarence were married for 53 years. She was a member of New Covenant Faith Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess for many years. She also was an active member of her Sunday School Class D.
Cherishing her memories are her husband of 53 years, Clarence Arvie Sr. of Lake Charles, La.; daughters, Shelia Dorsley of Natchitoches, La., Cynthia (Ronald) Morgan of Lake Charles, La., and Veronica Arvie of Lake Charles, La.; sons, Clarence Arvie Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, Donovan (Ronshall) Arvie of Lake Charles, La., and Kevin (Bernell) of Houston, Texas; sister, Mary Washington; brother, John Phillips, both of Natchitoches, La.; three brothers-in-law, Raymond Arvie of Opelousas, La., Jimmy (Katherine) Arvie, and Sherry (Drusilla), all of Lake Charles, La.; sisters-in-law, Rose Adams, Bertha (Darrel) Gallien, Frances (Morris Jr.) Joseph, Diana (Bruce) Broussard, all of Lake Charles, La., and Maxie Jean Arvie of Houston, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents Levi and Augusta Holmes Philips; son, Roy Phillips; and her brothers, Leroy Philips and Levi Phillips Jr.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Service date: June 4, 2016
Her funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4, in the New Covenant Faith Baptist Church, 2233 12th St. Dr. Jimmy R. Stevens will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home of Lake Charles, La. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
