Rose Alexander Citizen, 76, of Lake Charles, LA, transitioned to eternal rest on March 22, 2018 at a local area hospital.

Rose Alexander Citizen was born on August 5, 1941 in Fenton, Louisiana to Stafford Alexander, Sr. and Hazel Allison Alexander.  She attended Bethune High School in Welsh, LA and Sowela Technical Institute in Lake Charles, LA where she received her Hospital Ward Clerk certification.

Sister Rose was a long-time member of Refuge Temple Ministries where she served faithfully in several auxiliaries, including Mature Women Ministry, Prison and Hospital/Nursing Home Ministries and the Refuge Temple Deliverance Choir. She also was counselor and a leader of the Prayer Warriors.

Rose was a very outgoing person who loved to cook and have family dinners at her home. She loved shopping especially at Dillard's Department store. She was a loyal and loving friend who always had a smile on her face.  She will truly be missed by her family and friends.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Stafford Alexander, Sr. and Hazel Alexander Sims; daughter, Gwendolyn Citizen; three sisters, Betty Wright, Shirley Stevens and Maudra Simien; and two brothers Stafford Alexander, Jr and Andrew Alexander.

Rose leaves a legacy of love and precious memories with her husband of forty-six years, Orelian Citizen, Jr.; two sons, Jimmie Simien (Alisa) and Jeremy Citizen (Shellay); five stepsons, Andrew Citizen, Sr. (Lorraine), Charles Citizen (Debbie),  Marvin Citizen (Annette), Ronald Washington (Karen) and Donald  Washington; three stepdaughters, Andrea Citizen, Cecilia Citizen and Maria Wilson (Chad); two brothers,  Duson Alexander and Webster Alexander (Myra); three sisters, Mary Johnson (Elijah), Pearl Keller and Victoria Wilridge; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a church family who loved her dearly.
