Obituary

Mrs. Rose Marie “PaShook” Gamble, 87, of Lake Charles, La. was born July 12, 1938 to late Herman Earl Robertson, Sr and Viola Charles Robertson. She went peacefully to Glory on June 4, 2026 at the Harper Hospice House.

“PaShook” as many have come to know her was a social butterfly who was full of life and enjoyed people. She did not know a stranger and enjoyed making new friends. She also enjoyed cooking and baking goods for fundraisers and bazaars. She was always dependable, reliable and available for others. Her love as a caregiver to those who were sick and in need gave her a sense of purpose and exceedingly joy. She was an avid basketball fanatic who enjoyed watching her favorite basketball teams: the Phoenix Suns, Oklahoma City and the Golden State Warriors. Kevin Durante and Stephen Curry were her favorite players. Although she was not a fan of Steve Harvey, she watched Family Feud every day.

She worked many years as a deli worker at Kroger on 12th Street until her retirement. A very active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She helped make boudin and participated in the church bazaars in the sweet shop. Some of her many activities included being a diligent member of the Usher Society, the St. Joseph Altar Society, a very devoted and active member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary St Rita Court #31, the St. Katherine Drexel Chapter 6 Ladies of Grace of the Meritorious 4th Degree Division and the League of the Sacred Heart. She served as a guard in the court and was a faithful inner and outer sentinel in her Chapter. Always greeting everyone with a smile-extremely passionate about securing the chambers — No Password, No Entry!

At the end of all things,”PaShook” enjoyed a full life and lived it well.

Rose “PaShook” Gamble is survived by her four children: Ms. Dianna Davis-Zenon of Houston, Texas; Mrs. Deborah Ann (Clifton) McZeal of Lafayette, La.; Veronica “Connie” Loretta Davis of Lake Charles, La; and Michael Joseph (Janice) Davis, Sr. of Katy, Texas.
