Rose M. Charles, 73, was born May 7, 1942 in Lake Charles, LA to the late Willie and Ruth Reed Moore Sr. She departed this life on Thursday December 3, 2015 at Harbor Hospice Palliative Care Facility in Lake Charles, LA.

She was baptized at an early age at Zion Travelers Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. W. J. Johnson; presently Pastor Herman Weston.

Rose was a DSW for Compassionate Care Home Health Services. She was an avid worker and very well liked by her peers and all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: Two daughters; Djuana "Penny" Charles of Iowa, LA and Leslie "Shawn" (John) Breaux of Lake Charles, LA. Her grandchildren: Kelsey Channing and John Kyle Breaux of Lake Charles, LA and Ambria Iman Charles of Iowa, LA. One brother: Kenneth R. (Amelia) Moore of Temple Hills, MD and six sisters: Maudry (Wallace) Marshall Jr., Wilma Faye Charles, Katherine (Lawrence) Perrodin, BrendaJ. Moore, Frances Elaine Moore, and Gwendolyn (Carnell) Marable all of Iowa, LA. Her children''s father, Ret. Sgt. Major Joseph Charles of Houston, TX. Her godchildren: Tammy Cross-Castille of Saudi Arabia, Errol B. Marshall of Iowa, LA, Tierre K. Brown of Houston, TX, a very special niece, Cicely S. Moore of Baton Rouge, LA, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings: Willie Moore Jr., Margaret Lute, Betty Granderson, Lloyd A., and Floyd W. Moore.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: December 11, 2015

Wake services will be held on Friday December 11, 2015 at Zion Travelers Baptist Church, 608 W. Second Street, Iowa, LA from 6 until 9 pm, and on Saturday December 12 from 8:30 until 11:45 am. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 pm at the church with Pastor Herman Weston, officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Lacassine, LA. under direction of Combre Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA.
