Obituary

Roy Jackson, 92, died Sunday, September 13, 2015 in Missouri City, Texas.

Roy was born in New Roads, Louisiana. As an adult, he worked and lived in Lake Charles, Louisiana for over 50 years. Roy is a retiree of Citgo where he worked as a Pipefitter and Boilermaker for over 38 years.

Upon moving to Lake Charles, he joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the Pastoral ship of Reverend Jones and Reverend Allison.

He was a member of the Calcasieu Parish Civil Defense. Roy also worked as an Auxiliary Deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff''s Department. Roy was a 50 year member and life member of the Prince Hall Masons Member Golden Chain, Lodge #103. He held several officer positions, as well as appointed positions.

Roy leaves to cherish his memories his son LeRoi Jackson of Lake Charles, Louisiana; two daughters Brenda Jackson and Bernadette Jackson both of Missouri City, Texas. Three grandchildren Ed Stafford of Missouri City, Texas, Rineka Jackson of Houston, Texas and Shanda Jackson of Pearland, Texas. One sister Jeannette Jack of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; sister-in-law Rose Guerin, Goddaughter Tiki Brackens and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends in the New Roads, Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana areas.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife Edith Jackson; his parents Lucious and Nancy Jackson, five sisters and nine brothers.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: September 19, 2015

His funeral will be at 11am Saturday, September 19, in Combre Funeral Home. Burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the directions of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation is from 9am -11am Saturday in the funeral home.
