Mrs. Roy Lee McKinley, 81, departed this life on Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, in a local hospital.

Mrs. McKinley was one of six children born to Lela Faye and Leroy Hagger. Born on Dec. 23, 1933, she enjoyed growing up with her siblings Rosa Bea Lewis (deceased), Mae Ruth Johnson, Gloria Dean Johnson, Morris Hagger (deceased) and Earnest Hagger (deceased).

Mrs. McKinley is survived by her husband, EdwardJ. McKinley, and children, Edward Arnold and Tanya Lenette. She has two grandchildren, Kamielle Alana and Kara Lee, and a daughter-inlaw, Camille McKinley. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and friends that adored her smile, zeal for life and constant servant attitude.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Rosa, Morris and Earnest, and a daughter, Bridgette Noel.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: August 10, 2015

The funeral services for Roy Lee Hagger McKinley will be held at New Emmanuel Baptist Church, 502 North Lyons St., Lake Charles, La., on Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at 11 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. in the church. The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Omega Omega Service will start at 10:15 a.m. prior to the regular home-going service. The burial will be at Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
