Ruby Mae Duhon, 90, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed May 7, 2018 at sunset. Ruby was born to John Baptise Ambrose Leon Allan and Mary Lillian Gallien, August 29, 1927 in Iowa, Louisiana. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. She married Dudley John Duhon in 1947, and they lived together in Lake Charles where they raised their only daughter, Gloria Ann Duhon.

She leaves as her legacy a devoted daughter Gloria Ann (Frankie Lee Coleman). She also leaves to cherish her memory one Granddaughter Kenyia Duhon Beverly (Hayward Joseph Beverly), three Great-Grandchildren: Hershel Jayden Beverly, Havlynd Jae Beverly, and Haydrick Jaythan Beverly, three siblings: Ida May Allen Wilson, Leo Allen, Jr., and Elizabeth Jane Allen Fuller along with a host of family, friends, and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by Mr. & Mrs. Leo Allen, Sr. (parents), Mary Esther Allen Charles, (sister), Joseph Lester Allen (brother), Harold Carlton Allen (brother), Vice Austin Allen (brother), Ruth Hazel Allen Duhon (sister), Queen Ella Katherine Allen Washington (sister), John Henry Allen (brother) and Alvina Allen (sister).

Ruby worked at St. Patrick's Catholic Hospital in Central Supply and later as a private duty nanny for The Hudson East Family for 25 years until she retired. She was passionate about her vegetable and rose gardens, cooking for both family and extended family, serving as an usher at Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church for more than 20 years and later as a member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church.
