God looked at his daughter, Ruby Lewis and saw she was very tired. He said Ruby come on home. She smiled beautifully and took her last breath. On Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 11:30am, the Lord called Ruby Lewis home at the age of 85. She was born on February 24, 1935 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie (Hazel) Jordan in Opelousas, LA. On February 9, 1957, she was united in matrimony to Johnny Lewis and from that union they were blessed with six beautiful daughters.
Ruby was a kind, nurturing and selfless woman of God. She found her most joy in welcoming people into her home where the door was always open. She considered others more significant than herself, while always having a positive outlook on everything and found it was good. She enjoyed working for Mr. and Mrs. Michael (Dorothy) Halay for 36 years. She was a member of the IHM Christian Mothers, IHM KPC 3 rd Degree Ladies of Auxiliary Court 141, and 4 th Degree Knights of Peter Claver.
Mourning her departure are her six daughters, Carolyn (Ricky) Stoner, Bertha (Joseph) Jones, Therese Lewis, Elizabeth (Ronald) Jones, Johnnie Belle (Rellis Sr.) Chavis, Angela (Patrick) Guidry. She is survived in death by her three sisters, Betty Richard, Shirley Jordan and Linda (James) Pappion, also four brothers, Joseph Oscar (Betty) Jordan, Paul (Linda) Jordan, Carlton (Lauris) Jordan, and Shelton (JoAnn) Jordan, she had one Goddaughter, Clara Norman Malbrough, 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Johnny Lewis, her parents Willie (Hazel) Jordan, her siblings, Joseph Jordan Sr., Evelyn Jordan, Mary Ann Jordan, Frank Anthony Jordan Sr., John Roland Jordan, James Jordan, and Willie Jordan Jr.
