Sam Jones Jr. was born on June 26, 1929 to the union of Sam (Cora Lee)Jones Sr. In Port Barre Louisiana. Sam was united in Holy Matrimonywith Helen Buck and from this Union came four children. Later in life,Sam took a leap of faith and joined Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church,being baptized by Rev. Jimmy Stevens and he also remarried one,Josephine Keys Jones. Sam remained an active member of Zion until hispassing under he leadership of Pastor Alvin Brass.

Sam''s greatest passion was the love of his family and enjoying thesimple things in life. He was well known for his pleasant personality,his warm smile and his humble spirit.Sam retired as a longshoreman from the Lake Charles Stevedores in 1991after forty years of dedicated service.

On January 13, 2015, Sam transitioned to his promise of everlastinglife with his Eternal Father. He leaves to cherish his memory one sonGregory Sam Jones of Lake Charles, La. And two daughters GwendolynJones of Dixon, CA. And Lucretia Jones, also of Lake Charles, La.Three stepchildren, Robert (Earline) Keys of Lake Charles, La., EvelynAlexander of Houston, Texas., Moses (Mary) Keys of Kansas, a host ofGrandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews,Cousins and Friends.

Sam was proceeded in death by his Father, Sam Jones Sr. and Daughter,Sandra Jones Carrier.Sam''s life touched the hearts of many and his presence truly will begreatly missed.
