Samuel W. Hypolite "Mr. Sam", 67, was called home on June 12, 2014 in a local hospital. Mr. Sam grew up in St. Martinville La., and graduated from W.O. Boston High School in 1964. Upon his graduation, Mr. Sam served in the U.S. Army. Upon completion of serving his time in the Army, he met and married Patricia A. Jones from Mossville, La.

Mr. Sam worked for Conoco / Condea Vista (now Sasol) for 29 years, and retired at the blessed age of 53. Mr. Sam was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, and enjoyed volunteering his time and assisted with The Knights of Peter Claver, The Knights of Columbus, The Lady''s Alter Society, Habitat for Humanity, Abraham''s Tent, and various other organizations. He also worked on political campaigns for family and friends.

He and his wife Patricia were married for 45 years, and have two sons through this union, Me''Jel Joseph Hypolite and Rah-Deen Hypolite. Mr. Sam also has a beloved daughter, Margan Elizabeth Carrier.

He leaves behind his father, Israel Hypolite; two sisters JoAnne Allen & Patricia Pete; two brothers, Ricky Joseph Hypolite & Raymond Paul Hypolite. The loves of his life, his three grandkids; Rahleesha Divine Hypolite, Samantha LaShon Hypolite, Rah-Deen Daniel Hypolite, and his daughter in-law, Eleesha R. Hypolite. Mr. Sam will be missed by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, god-children, and in-laws.

Mr. Sam has wonderful friends from his early adult years that will miss him dearly. His golfing friends, "McDonalds Club" buddies, and church family will also miss Mr. Sam very much. Mr. Sam made friends with new people every day, and the family knows you all will miss him dearly as well.

Visitation for Mr. Sam will be on Friday, June 20th from 6pm - 9pm at Combre Funeral Home. Reverend Monsignor Daniel A. Torres will preside a rosary at 7:00pm. A final viewing will also take place on Saturday, June 21st from 9:45am until 10:45am at Combre Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 21st at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at 11:00am . Deacon Joseph E. Bushnell will be officiating. Burial will take place at Combre Memorial Park. The repass will take place at Immaculate Heart''s Founder''s Hall.
