Sarah Gray Ballou Born October 18, 1933, Died April 19, 2016 in a localhospital.

Sarah was the 2nd born child of Toefield & Ola Mae (Alexander) Gray. Shewas born in Elton, LA, October 18, 1933. Her mother passed away when shewas only one (1) year old. Clovis & Lillian (Alexander) Soileau lovinglyraised her until the age of 18. At 18 years of age, Sarah married BertmanJ. Ballou, a childhood friend. They left Elton, LA shortly after theirmarriage in 1952 and moved to Lake Charles, LA. Lake Charles became homefor them and Sarah has lived here over 64 years. Her husband workedconstruction jobs and she was a homemaker.

Survivors include her four (4) children, two (2) daughters, Ola MarieBellard (Frank Reed), Brenda Gay Bellard (Bruce), two (2) sons, BertmanJoseph Ballou, Jr. & Louis Charles Ballou (Ramona Williamson); all of LakeCharles, LA. Other survivors are four(4) sisters, Helen Gray-May, BarbaraGray, Elizabeth Gray; of Lake Charles, LA and Rose Gray of Eldorado,Arkansas. Two (2) brothers; Clarence (Bo) Gray of Oberlin, LA, and SamuelGray of Lake Charles, LA; grandchildren, Bertman J. Ballou, III (Regina),Corey Bellard (Roxanne), Nicholas Bellard, Alison Bellard, Kayla Fontenot,Neiko & Falon Orphey (twins), great-grandson, Braylon Bellard,great-granddaughters, Ja''Leigha Orphey and Catherine Sarah Ballou, all ofLake Charles, LA. She has several daughters she''s adopted by love,including, but not limited to, Christella Pringle and Ronni Estes.Grandchildren adopted by love include: Kyrian Thompson, Mondrake Coleman,Surmekia Burrell, Amya Ceasar, Te''Aja Nicholas, Nia Nicholas, PrincetonNicholas, and Kingston Nicholas, all of Lake Charles, LA; and she has agodson, Hubert Thomas of Elton, LA. To a host of nieces and nephews, Sarahis an aunt, great-aunt, and a great-great aunt. She has been afriend/relative to a host of other folks.Preceding Sarah in death include,her husband, Bertman Joseph Ballou, Sr., parents, Toefield & Ola Mae(Alexander) Gray, adoptive parents, Clovis & Lillian (Alexander) Soileau,Paternal grandparents, Albert & Florence (Joubert) Gray, as well as hermaternal grandparents, The Alexanders'' (first names unavailable). Stillothers include: sister, Martha Gray-Stenson, brothers Wilton Gray,Toefield Gray, Jr., Willard Gray, and Freddie Gray, andgodson, Chester Soileau.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: April 30, 2016

Visitation service will be Saturday April 30, 2016 from 8:00 A.M. to 10:40 A.M. in Combre Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday April 30, 2016 at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, burial will be in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
