Semonia Broussard Taylor was born in Carencro, LA, on Feb. 19, 1914 to Simon Broussard and Azeno Leblanc Broussard.
She has lived in Lake Charles, LA for many years. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and a member of the Christian Mothers.
She was united in holy matrimony to Elowishas Taylor and to this union eleven children were born. She had seven girls: Eva Jackson Mary {Fattie} Curry, Marie {Mary} Brown, Cornelia {Connie} Miller, Jeanette Marie Pitre, Mary Maudry Bracey, and Linda Cooks; four boys Ð Simon Taylor, Joseph Taylor, John Harold Taylor, and Alfred {Bill} Taylor.
Semonia was preceded in death by her husband Elowishas, two daughters: Eva Jackson and Jeanette Pitre, son: Joseph {Joe} Taylor, brother: Wilfred Broussard and her parents.
Semonia leaves to cherish her memories three sons: Simon Taylor and Alfred {Bill} Taylor both of Lake Charles, LA,; John Harold {Gloria} Taylor of Marina, CA; and five daughters Mary {Harold} Curry of Brentwood, CA; Cornelia {Wilbert} Millon of Sacramento, CA; Mary Maudry Barcey of San Francisco, CA; and Linda Cooks and Mary Brown both of Lake Charles, LA .
She had seven grandsons, one very special, Bryan Pitre, whom she cherished very deeply and counted on at anytime of the day or night until the day she closed her eyes and went to meet her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ; twelve granddaughters and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and great great great grandchildren.
Along with the aforementioned, she leaves one brother; Alfred Broussard, five sisters; Corita Thomas, Lovenia Broussard, Alice Green, Opehlia Milo, and Ezola Mayfield. She enjoyed gardening and working outdoors. She especially enjoyed making different ceramics, which she shared with all of her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Saturday, January 19 at 1:00. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Combre Funeral Home Saturday, January 19, from 10 – 12:40pm. Rosary at 11:00.
