Shelton John Guillory

Shelton John Guillory was born on January 16, 1947, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to the late Matney Guillory and Martha Toussaint Guillory. He attended W.O. Boston High School and worked at the Cit-Con facility for more than 30 years. He and Norma Guillory were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Stacie Orsot (Rico) and Shelley Guillory. 

Shelton was outgoing, devoted to his community, and a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. He deeply loved and cared for his five grandchildren, Alexia (David), Aidan, Josh, Anyah, and Anthony, and his three great-grandchildren, Aidan, Amelia, and David Jr. He also shared a special bond with his many nieces and nephews.

 Shelton remained an active member of his community until illness limited his participation. He was known as the self-appointed greeter at countless funerals for relatives, friends, coworkers, and members of the community. He always made it a point to pay his respects whenever someone he knew passed away. Family members would often hear from others who had seen “your daddy” at yet another funeral. His presence during times of loss offered comfort and support to many families. 

He was a member of the Lions Club and participated in numerous civic and social activities. Through his famous barbecue catering business, Shelton fed and brought joy to people throughout the community. He enjoyed organizing family reunions and helping feed attendees at the Sacred Heart Bazaar. He never missed an opportunity to coordinate one of his popular Super Bowl pools.

 Shelton will also be fondly remembered for his famous purple Crown Royal bags, in which he carefully kept his loose change and anything else he considered a treasured possession.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Matney and Martha Guillory, and his siblings, Dalton Guillory, Youree James Guillory, Clifton Guillory, Carlton Guillory, Joyce Marie Petty and Anna Mae Sapp. 

Shelton leaves to cherish his memory his two daughters, Stacie Orsot and Shelley Guillory; his brother, Matney Guillory Jr. of Houston, Texas; his sisters, Eula Mae Hanchett of Beaumont, Texas, and Judy Simon of Lake Charles, Louisiana; his five grandchildren; his three greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, coworkers, and friends.

Visitation will begin at 8:00 A.M. with a Rosary to be said at 9:30 A.M. on Friday, July 31, 2026 in Combre Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
