Shirley Mae Banks passed on October 7, 2018 surrounded by family and friends in a local hospital at the age of 58.

She was born June 7, 1960 at Lafayette General Hospital located in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Shirley attended WO Boston High School where she met the love of her life Ronald
Banks. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her family.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents John Sonnier and Edna Roberts; her son
Javon Sonnier; her brothers, Lee Roberts, Joseph Roberts and James Sonnier; her sister
Alice Provost.

She is survived by her daughters Monique Sonnier (Corey) Verner of Memphis,
Tennessee; Shawanna Alexander of Scott, Louisiana; and her son Eric Davis of
Opelousas, Louisiana. Her brothers Joseph (Jennifer) Alexander of Houston, Texas;
Ricky Sonnier of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; and John Sonnier of Lake Charles,
Louisiana. Her sisters Mary Arrington of Shubuta, Mississippi, Mary (Adam) Moore of
Lake Charles, Louisiana; Janet Sonnier of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Edna Sonnier of
Houston, Texas; Patsy Sonnier of Laurel, Mississippi and a host of nieces, nephews,
family, and friends.
