Simon Jackson Jr., 66, died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017, in a local hospital. He was nicknamed and affectionately called "Manee" by family. Simon was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He was a truck driver by vocation, and worked for several local companies. He was also self-employed during his career. Simon loved nothing more than driving an 18-wheeler cross-country! His CB handle was "Fender Bender." He retired from truck driving about ten years ago.
Simon took special interest in his nieces, Jackie Small Bernard, Michelle Small, Leah Small and his nephew Counte Small. They shared a special place in his heart.
Simon is preceded in death by his father, Simon Jackson Sr., mother, Augustine Jackson, brother, Arthur Small, and niece, Jackie Small Bernard. Survivors include his brother, John Jackson and sister-in-law, Carolyn Jackson, both of Rome, Georgia, sister-in-law, Geraldine Small of Opelousas, nieces, Michelle Small of Atlanta, Leah Small of Opelousas, and Loni Jackson of Athens, Georgia, nephews, Counte Small of Houston, and Errol Jackson of San Francisco, fiancé Jackie Duhon of Lake Charles, and a host of cousins and other relatives.
The Rev. Freddie Brown, Pastor of New Providence Baptist Church will officiate.
