Stella Broussard died on October 27, 2012 at her daughter's home in Lake Charles, Louisiana after 93 years of life. Stella was the 7 ^th of 9 children born to Pierre and Celestine Celest Broussard in Broussard, Louisiana. She spent her formative years in Lafayette, Louisiana. Stella moved to Lake Charles in 1940, and became a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a member of the Alter & Rosary Society, a 50+-year member of the Knights of Peter Claver Auxiliary, Saint Rita Court 31, and a member of Sacred Heart Senior Citizens Group.

Her parents and 8 siblings preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories: her only child, Martha Arceneaux (Patrick) Broussard; two grandsons, Milton D. (Brenda) Broussard of Elk Grove, CA; Byron A. (Margie) Broussard of Kalamazoo, MI; two great grandsons: Xavier and Marquez Broussard of Elk Grove, CA; three great granddaughters: Clarissa Broussard, and son Jadynn Dillard, of San Antonio, TX, Maria Broussard of Portland, OR, and Celine Broussard of Champaign, IL. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Particularly close to her were foster daughter Genevieve Colston, foster granddaughter Spencer Mathews, and the female members of the Sacred Heart High School Class of 1957.

Her funeral will be at 12:00 PM Saturday November 3, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Visitation is from 9:00 AM at Combre Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited during Visitation. The family requests that in lieu of flowers or plants a monetary gift be made to the Church in Stella's honor.
