Stephanie was born June 1, 1950 in Lake Charles, La., She gained her heavenly wings on March 31, 2016. Stephanie was an active, devoted member of Christian Baptist Church serving in Sunday School, as a youth worker, a long-time member of WMU Circle #5, the Food Pantry and over 30 years in Vacation Bible School.
"Sally Ann" as she was affectionately known was a graduate of W.O. Boston High School. She touched the lives of many with her smile and giving spirit. She will be forever remembered for her love of God, stylish dress, love for cooking, and famous, delicious pound cakes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rodney and Leona Jones, and James Smith; brothers James Williams and Michael Jones, Sr.; brother-in-law George Charles and special friend Eugene Sampson.
Stephanie leaves to cherish her memories her sisters; Jennifer Lash, Frances Charles, Geraldine Thomas, Linda Miller and Jenell Stevens all of Lake Charles; brothers, Wardell Gilbeaux of Loganville, GA, Kevin Smith of Houston, TX, and Rodney G. Jones, Sr. of Lake Charles, La.; brother-in-law, Larry Thomas, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Rose Thomas Richard, Carol Collins, and Mittie Webb all of Lake Charles; adopted daughter'' Cynthia Woods and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Service date: April 9, 2016
A celebration of life for Stephanie "Sally Ann" Smith Thomas 65, will be 11am Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Christian Baptist Church, 202 N. Franklin St., Rev. Edward Alexander, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Combre Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 9 am at the church until time of service.
