Thelma Elizabeth Kittling, age 90, was born on August 11, 1923 in Alexandria La. to Peter and Mary Virginia Truss Andrews.

She attended St. Augustine Lutheran Church in Alexandria La. where she accepted Christ at an early age. Later, she became a member of Rosa Sharon Baptist Church, Alexandria, La. After living in California for 26 years, she moved to Lake Charles where before her death she was a member of Christian Baptist Church.

On June 26, 1942, Thelma was united in Marriage to James Kittling of Alexandria La, and to this union a son entered their life Michael W. Kittling.

Thelma Kittling passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Rosewood Nursing Facility. She leaves to cherish her memories son Michael W. Kittling (Phyllis), two grandchildren Haleah and Myiah Kittling of Lake Charles, La.; Stepdaughter Shirley Burnett (Ed) of Los Angeles, Calif.; Sister Francis Turner of Los Angeles Calif.; brother in-law Ed Johnson of Dallas,Tx.; a special daughter Patricia Wilson (Matthew) of Alexandria La.; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband James Kittling, sisters Edna Lafayer (Perkins), Mary Ethel Harris (Peter), Everette Robinson (James), Evelyn Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: April 12, 2014

Funeral service will be on Saturday, April 12, in Christian Baptist Church (North Location). The Rev. Edward Alexander will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Combre Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Visitation is from 8am-11am Saturday, April 12, in the church.
