Surrounded by family, Thomas King White Sr. 75, was released from this earthly body on Sunday, April 15, 2018.  He was born in St. Louis, Missouri to John Joseph and Jeanne Clement White. Thomas was baptized in 1943 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Following his father's death his family moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana to be closer to other family members. He attended Sacred Heart Elementary School, First Ward Colored School, and was a 1961 graduate of W. O. Boston High School. There he was a popular student and outstanding baseball player. After several years of employment, he enlisted in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge in 1970.

He was a dedicated and well-respected employee of Christus St. Patrick's Hospital. After   approximately 42 years of service, he retired as Manager of the Shipping and Receiving Department.  During his tenure he was the recipient of numerous awards for his diligent and dedicated service.

In 1971, he married the love of his life and to this union three children were born. They were the joy and purpose in his life. A faithful member of Sacred Heart, he often worshipped at St. Henry and Fatima Chapel.

As a veteran, he was a past member of the American Legion Post 551, and a current member of VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post 7321.  An avid nature lover, he always found a reason to be outdoors. He enjoyed sitting on the porch, riding his bicycle, working in the yard, and feeding the birds. Family and friends loved his barbecue and smoked turkey and gumbo. He enjoyed sports and watching westerns. Thomas loved people and made new friends when he frequented Albertson's and Kroger's.

Preceded in death by his parents; brother, John White; sisters, Dorothy J. White, Alice White Beverly; brother-in law, Joseph Beverly; and sister-in law, Lillie Ann White.

Those celebrating his life and legacy and cherishing his memory are Christiana Mason White, his wife of forty seven years; sons, Thomas K. White Jr. and Michael Joseph White both of Houston, Texas; daughter, Carolynn N. White of Lake Charles; and a nephew whom he loved as a son, Eugene White (Stephanie) of Houston, Texas; sisters, Bertha Sweet (Lawrence), Linda A. White both of Lake Charles; brother, Charles White (Deborah) of Houston, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends, Morris Skipper, Robert Gordon Sr. and attentive neighbor, Mervyn Roy; as well as members of the 1961 graduating class of W. O. Boston High School.

He will be remembered for his strength, conviction, and devotion to his faith.
