Vincent "Big Wheel" Green was born January 23, 1924 in Lawtell, Louisiana to the late Seriak and Amelia Duplechin Green, Sr. He resided in Lawtell, Louisiana until he met and married his loving wife, Mable Fontenot Green of Mallet, Louisiana. To this union one child was born during their sixty years of marriage.

After serving in the United States Army in 1945, he moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana. During his 40 years of service at the Firestone Refinery, he exceeded the expectations of a poor young boy from Lawtell that came to Lake Charles with one shirt and one pair of blue jeans. He loved sitting on his swing outside talking with friends. He also loved traveling back to his hometown, Lawtell. His greatest joy was his family and grandchildren. He and his late wife both were members of a social club where they enjoyed being with friends and dancing. It was said that he was very light on his feet.

Big Wheel was preceded in death by his wife and his parents; five brothers, Allen, Seriak, Jr., Murphy, Thomas, Russell Green; seven sisters, Alene Leblue, Angele Gallian, Alice Duplechain, Sylvinia Rubit, Louise Espree, Amelia Bellard and Alicia Guillory.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Joann Green Duhon (Terrell, Sr.) and five grandchildren, Raymond Broussard, Jeannine Broussard, Terrell "T.J." Duhon, Jr., all of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Sharay Duhon and Jade Duhon of Mamou, Louisiana. Fifteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Service date: April 23, 2016

Visitation will be Saturday April 23, 2016 from 8:00 A.M. to 11:45 A.M. in Combre Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday April 23, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. in Sacred Heart Catholic Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
