Obituary
Viola Ann Franklin was the youngest of nine children. She was born in Lake Charles, LA to the late Clarence and Viola (Caesar) Franklin Sr. Growing up, Ann had many talents. The things that she enjoyed most were music which stemmed from her father, and her passion of sewing, from her mother. As a teenager, she was in the W. O. Boston High School Band, she played the tuba/sousaphone. Her passion for music continued into her work as a disc jockey for many years on air as Bobby Layne. She became a seamstress because of her love of sewing. Ms. Ann enjoyed making her own outfits and had a style like no other and you'd never guess she made her own clothes! She joined Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ Church, where she was a part of the Ladies Auxiliary and worked as an usher at several funerals. Many of you will remember Ann playing her music from the porch on the 500 Block of Boulevard and having conversations with her in the same place. She'll be remembered for her truly unique and honest personality along with her love for helping others.
She was preceded in death by her beloved siblings: Louis Jordan, Clarence Franklin Jr. and Mary Alice Reynaud.
Left to cherish her memories are her three children: Bobby L. Franklin of Lake Charles, LA Vaughnjareya J. Faulkner of Salt Lake City, UT, and Lorilee M. (Randell J.) Davis of Lake Charles, LA, one granddaughter (Lil' Apple) Carlyss S. Davis
Three brothers: J.C. Jordan of Milwaukee, WI Alvin R. Franklin & Harrison E. (Novella) Franklin. Two sisters: Emily (Richard RJ) Paul & Ceasar Marie Franklin, both of Lake Charles, LA. As well as a host of (great) nieces, (great) nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and the cats she loved dearly.
