Virginia Marie "Jean" Simon Adams, 75, passed on to glory at 12:20 P.M. on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at St. Patrick Hospital while surrounded by her family and loved ones.
She was a native of Loreauville, LA but lived in Lake Charies for the majority of her life. During her lifetime, she held employment at Piccadilly Cafeteria and Suffolk Manor Apartments. Most importantly, she fulfilled her life's passion as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M at Combre Funeral Home. Her funeral services will begin at 11:00 A.M. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Father Marcus Johnson will be officiating with burial to follow in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
Left to cherish her remarkable life are her six daughters, Mary Lewis, Pamela (Joe) Duhon, Stephanie (Bartley) LeBlanc, Vicky (Harold) Johnson, Shawolyn (Michael) Lewis, all of Lake Charles, LA; Tricia (George) Cotlong of Gonzales, LA; two sons, Darrell (Faye) Adams and Dwayne (Carolyn) Adams, both of Lake Charles, LA; one brother, Junius (Mardell) Simon, Sr. of Houston, TX; one aunt, Esther Broussard of Loreauville, LA, sister-in-law, Charlene (Michael) Pryor of Baton Rouge, three godchildren, Phyllis Washington, David Babineaux and Ronald Lawrence along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Julia Simon, her husband, Darrell Adams and her sister, Vernita Simon Smith, sister-in-law, Darelene Nelson.
