Wallace "June" Marshall, Jr. was born on October 19, 1935 in Iowa, Louisiana to the late Wallace Marshall, Sr. and Emma Charles Marshall.  He died on March 19, 2017 at his residence in Iowa, Louisiana surrounded by loved ones.

Wallace began working at an early age and maintained a hard work ethic throughout his life.  He retired from Matlack, Inc. where he spent over 32 years as a Transport Driver and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 969.  He then worked for the Calcasieu Parish School Board for 10 years.  After his second retirement, he became a fixture at the town's car washes while managing the operations of the facilities for the past 15 years.

A native and lifelong resident of Iowa, he was deeply committed to his community and was involved in many organizations.  He was a devoted Christian and a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church where he faithfully served as usher and finance committee member.  He was a proud Life Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3006 3 ^rd Degree where he became the first African American to serve as Grand Knight.  He also served as Vice-Chairman of the Iowa Housing Authority Board.  He actively fulfilled his civic duties by regularly attending City Council meetings to represent the interests of his community and assisting community members with transportation to the polls to vote.

Loving memories will be cherished by his wife of 60 years, Maudry Moore Marshall of Iowa, Louisiana; two sons, Errol Marshall of Iowa, Louisiana and Marlon (Shannon) Marshall of Pearland, Texas; one sister, Juanita Celestine of Iowa, Louisiana; four beloved grandchildren, Taylor and Torre Marshall of Iowa, Louisiana and Jordan and Cameron Marshall of Pearland, Texas; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Evelyn Jean Williams.
