IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Weldon Joseph
Cormier
June 22, 1942 – April 16, 2022
Mr. Weldon Joseph Cormier, also known as Wilton, was granted eternal rest on April 16, 2022. In preparation of his last days, he shared precious time and wisdom with his family. Weldon was born in St. Martinville, LA on June 22, 1942, to Julian and Lena Cormier.
Weldon enjoyed the simplicities of life. He would often reminisce on living off the land in the country and working in the fields to enjoy the "good eatin" as he would call it. He started working at an early age to help his family. Weldon continued to carry a strong work ethic into adulthood working offshore and within the lines of construction. He retired with Alfred Palmer as a heavy equipment operator.
When Weldon was not working, you could find him in the comfort of his home with his loving belated wife, Rose Cormier. He was a caring a devoted husband and father. Upon meeting the love of his life, he willingly engaged in providing for and raising two of her children before having his own biological girls blending as a nuclear family. Weldon believed in loyalty and respect. In several instances, he fought hard to honor and serve in the name of his family, and they in turn fought to preserve the same for him.
Preceding Weldon in death was his mother, Lena Cormier, his father, Julian Cormier, and his beloved wife, Rose Cormier.
Weldon leaves to cherish his memory daughters, Hollie Cormier, Dana Slack, and Rachel Pete (Irvin); son, Lee Goudeau Jr. (Danetta); and a brother, June Cormier.
Grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, and a host of other family and friends will also cherish his legacy.
