Obituary

Mr. Wesley B. Smith was born May 28, 1923 in Chipley, Louisiana
to Ethel Lewis and Edward Smith. At an early age, he accepted
Christ as Lord and Savior and dedicated his life to serving the lord.
He was always very kind and compassionate. He was a faithful
member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, until his
death.

Throughout his life, Mr. Smith was always very active. He attended
Calcasieu Parish Cove School and w.o. Boston High School. His
love for family, traveling, fishing, and working in his yard kept him
extremely busy. Mr. Smith fulfilled his military obligation in the
United States Army, received an Honorable Discharge, EAME TO
Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal;
worked as operator at PPG Industries, Inc.for more than thirty-eight
years; and was awarded a Special Gold Veteran's Badge as an honor
conferred by the Grand Lodge of the International Association of
Machinists and Aerospace Workers in 1995.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alvin
Guillory; and a grandson Glen Avery Guillory.

Those celebrating his life and legacy and cherishing his memories
are his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Dorothy Richard Smith; his
sons, Charles James Smith, Sr. (Shannon), Barry Wayne Smith
(Anita); Daughter-in-law, Daisy Guillory; grandchildren, Wayne
Guillory, Charles Smith, Jr., Shavette Smith, Enola Henderson
(Edward), Alvin Smith, Jada Smith,; great-grandchildren, Saundra
Miller (Travis), Javin Smith, Jeriah Smith, Joshua Smith, Landon
Howard, Isayah Papillion, Ilaysia Papillion, Edward Henderson, Jr.,
Darius Scott, Christopher Guillory, Maya Guillory, Sanai Guillory,
Ariana Smith, Rea Smith, Lila Smith, Leland Smith, Journni Smith;
great-great-grandchild, Cayden Carter; brother-in-law, Robert
Richard (Gwendolyn); godchild, Nicholas Chretien, Jr.; and a host of
nieces, nephews, and friends.
