Wilda Mae Malveaux-Francis, 74, died on May 25, 2013 in a local nursing home. She was born in Opelousas, Louisiana on January 9, 1939. She lived in Lake Charles, Louisiana for 48 years and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She served as a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, St. Rita Court 31. Wilda worked as a nurse''s assistant for a local home health agency until retirement.

Wilda will be remembered for her loving and welcoming personality. She was preceded in death by her parents: Beatrice Collins-Malveaux and Thomas Malveaux; brothers: Patrick, Raymond, and Bernard Malveaux; sisters: Mildred Lazard, Madar Dean Malveaux, and Caffa Mae Malveaux; sister-in-laws: Emma Malveaux and Mary Jean Guidry-Malveaux; brother-in-laws: Errol V. Brown, Herman Francis, Joseph Francis, and John Malven Declues; nephew: Darryl Ray Malveaux; niece: Mary Yvonne Malveaux-Keller; uncle: Charles "Sam" Collins; godson: David "BB" Lafanette.

Wilda leaves to cherish in her memories husband of 47 years, Jules Francis of Lake Charles, Louisiana, two sisters: Veronica Brown and Winnie Malveaux of Houston, Texas; one uncle: Whitney (Laura) Collins of Los Angeles, California.; one aunt: Dorothy Collins of Los Angeles, California; one brother-in-law: Ernest (Viola) Francis of Lake Charles, Louisiana, four sister-in-laws: Ella Mae Francis, Catherine Declues, Mary (Herbert) Lafanette of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Lucinda Francis of Houston, Texas; a host of nieces/nephews and great and great great; godchildren: Samantha Malveaux, Clarence (Cynthia) Collins, Jr., Felicia Malveaux, Gregory Malveaux, Troy (Leah)Francis, Dr. Chassity (Naton) Jenkins-Stewart, Fantasy, and other godchildren and beloved family and friends.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Father Clyde Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery (Mausoleum), under the direction of Combre Funeral Home in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Visitation is from 8am until 10:45am at the funeral home.
