Wilfred Gallien Sr.(Willie), 85 died at 1:09 a.m. Monday October 31st, 2016 in Alexandria, Louisiana at Christus Cabrini Hospital. He was born on February 6, 1931 in Opelousas, Louisiana and was youngest of eight siblings born to Louis Gallien and Celestine Jean. Wilfred met and married his wife Isabella Joseph in 1957. After ten years they gave birth the their eldest son, Wilfred Gallien, Jr. Four years later their second son, Moses Wayne Gallien (Big Moe) was born. Wilfred was a devout Catholic and served as Usher at Immaculate Heart of Mary for more than 35 years. He worked at Conoco, Vista Chemical, and Sasol for many years before retiring.
He is preceded in death by his wife Isabella Gallien, his son Moses Gallien, his parents Celestine and Louis Gallien, five brothers: Louis, Joseph, Calvin, Leroy, and Edward; two sisters: Virgie Fontenot and Elizabeth Fontenot. He leaves behind two sons Wilfred Gallien Jr. (wife Brandee) of Alexandria, Louisiana and Marlon Carl Gallien, granddaughter Marquetta Denise Parker, and great granddaughter Lakeyn Gabrielle Bordelon. Extended family includes long-time companion Ms. Lillian Duplechain, son Kendall (Erica) Duplechain, daughters Stephanie Duplechain, and Marsha Duplechain-Williams, grand children Sydney Duplechain, Kaelon Duplechain, MacKenzie Williams and Delaynie Williams including many nieces, nephews, and friends.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Service date: November 5, 2016
Visitation is from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Combre Funeral Home. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The Reverend Wayne LeBleu will officiate. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lake Charles, Louisiana under the direction of Combre Funeral Home.
