Willie Belle accepted Christ at an early age under the spiritual guidance of the late Reverend Deville at St. John Baptist Church in Ville Platte.
On December 21, 1963, she married the love of her life, Samuel Marks Sr., with whom she shared a beautiful life. Their union was blessed with three cherished children, along with one beloved bonus child. Though Samuel preceded her in death, the legacy of their love lives on in the family they nurtured together.

She created lasting memories and traditions that will continue to bless generations to come. Her heart was big enough to love not only her own but all who crossed her path.
Willie Belle's work ethic and culinary talent left an indelible mark in the Lake Charles community. For over 45 years, she served as head chef at Pat's of Henderson Restaurant under the leadership of Ricky Perioux. Her warm spirit, laughter, and unforgettable recipes drew patrons near and far, but it was her generous heart that left the deepest impression.
Before relocating to Sugar Land, Texas, Willie Belle was a faithful and active member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Charles, where she served with joy under the leadership of Reverend Elmore Garner. Her presence there will be remembered fondly by many.
Willie Belle was preceded in death by her loving husband, Samuel Marks Sr.; her parents, Mause and Bernadette Freeman; five sisters—Rose Mary Thomas, Eula Mae Robinson, Margaret Allison, Nellouise Bailey, and Priscilla Stevens; and one precious great-grandchild.
